Smoking Ceremony
Smoking ceremonies are an ancient Aboriginal Custom. Native plants are burnt to produce smoke to ward off bad spirits, acknowledge ancestors and pay respect to the land and sea of country.
A sacred smoking ceremony has many purposes. Traditionally, it is used as a welcome to a particular area. Sometimes the smoking ceremony may cleanse an area or person and shows a sign of respect for people past and present and also the passing over of elders – to rest the spirit. The leaves, bark and fungi from trees are the three sources of smoke for the smoking ceremony depending on the purpose of the ceremony. A smoking ritual or ceremony is a serious affair where the lost or bad spirit is urged to depart, allowing those who are caused spiritual disturbance to regain peace and balance. The smoke is also used as a cleansing or blessing. Contact: Alan "Rainbow Warrior" Martin to conduct a Smoking Ceremony for You, or Your Home, Building, Office. Price on consultation. |
